You have created new Financial Dimensions, want to activate them, and system says you must be in maintenance mode.
To perform the following steps, you must have access to Life Cycle Services for your environment.
1. Enabling Maintenance Mode
Login to Life Cycle Services
Choose your project on the front page
On the right side click “Full details” for your environment
Note: It may take a minute or so for the screen to completely load
In the top left select the menu option:
Maintain (drop-down) > Enable maintenance mode
Note: Enabling maintenance mode in a tier 2 environment with no transactional data took approximately 45 minutes. Times may vary between environments or when transactional data is loaded.
Once maintenance mode is enabled the green status box in the top right of the screen will say “Maintenance mode enabled”
2. Activating Financial Dimensions
Login to your D365 Finance and Supply chain environment.
Iteratively choose "Activate" to run activation for each inactive financial dimension.
General Ledger> Chart of accounts> Dimensions> Financial dimensions > Acitvate
It may take a few minutes for the activation to complete. When the processes is finished the dimensions will show as active in the system.
3. Disabling Maintenance Mode
Login to Life Cycle Services
Select your project on the front page
On the right side click “Full details” for your environment
Then select:
Maintain > Disable maintenance mode
After disabling maintenance mode a screen will appear informing you it is exiting maintenance mode. With a refresh button to check if the status changes.
When the process is complete the environment status will update to “Deployed”
Note: After activating a financial dimension make sure to add it to the account structure (General Ledger> Chart of accounts>Structures> Configure account structures) and the dimension configuration (General ledger> Chart of accounts> Dimensions> Financial dimension configuration for integrating applications)
