The Inventory Value Storage inquiry is similar yet different than the Inventory Value report.
The old report has not yet been deprecated by Microsoft.
Inventory management > Inquiries and reports > Inventory value reports > Inventory value
The new report is located here:
Cost management > Inquiries and reports > Inventory value report storage
The two reports have different benefits.

Report is Exportable to Excel
The new report can handle a very large number of items and locations.

Quote from D365 Feature Management:
This feature provides a new way of executing the inventory value report and is useful in cases where the output contains a large number of lines. For example, without this feature, if you request the inventory ending balance by item, site, and warehouse and you have 50,000 items and 300 stores, you will get a long report that is difficult to review. With the Inventory value report storage feature enabled, you can sort and filter results, and export results to an external system.
The setup for the new report is very similar to my previous blog.
I recommend reading the previous blog before proceeding.
1. Chart of Accounts
Same as previous blog
Exception:
New Setup will allow assignment of the Total account to the Report ID,
The Total account will not be used.
2. Inventory Value report ID
Same as previous blog
Exception:
New Setup will allow assignment of the Total account to the Report ID,
The select Main Accounts will not appear on the Inventory Value Report Storage.
Exception:
New Setup will allow selection of Totals for Items and Item Groups.
The selected totals will not appear on the new Inventory Value Report Storage..
3. Inventory Value Report Storage
Create a new report by clicking "New".
Cost management > Inquiries and reports > Inventory value report storage
The Parameters page will save (store) the settings so you can rerun the report.
You will notice is that the new Inventory Value Storage report has a new field "Name".
The "Name" field is used to label your individual saved reports.
The report parameters include the "ID" field that was described in the prior blog.
Please note the exceptions mentioned in section 2) above, otherwise, the setup of the ID is the same.

When you click "OK" a message will pop up:
The Inventory value job is added to the batch queue.
After the batch job is completed you may easily view the report in grid format by clicking view details.
We have successfully created an Inventory Value Report Storage.
We can export the report to Excel and add totals and format the report for publication.
